Job summary

Kitchell seeks an experienced Project Manager to join our Southern California region in the greater San Diego area and build a long-term career with one of the leading building companies in the United States.

Provide PM/CM Services as an owner’s representative on DSA for k-12 and community college projects in Education and Civic markets. On-site with strong client-facing responsibilities, requiring knowledge of public sector needs and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of vertical construction industry experience required.
• Experience in California public education market sector under DSA regulatory oversight strongly desired.
• CCM/DBIA certification or LEED accreditation preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Provides PM/CM Consultant Services for the owner in the California education or public market sector.
• Ensures operations are executed in accordance with company project management procedures and policies.
• Ensures delivery and adherence to contractual requirements and that all aspects of owner contracts are accomplished.
• Manages the procurement phase and development of RFQs and RFPs.
• Provides oversight of contracts, drawings, estimates, and specifications to ensure relation and compliance to project requirements.
• Coordinates, directs, and monitors activities of contractors/subcontractors, engineers, architects, and related performing entities.
• Manages project controls, cost, schedule, performance activities, and procedures required by the client.
• Identifies and manages risk on the project, and advises and confers with regional executive prior to implementing risk mitigation actions.
• Actively participates in internal teams that focus on continuous improvement of the company.
• Ensures workplace health and safety policies and procedures are clearly communicated and understood by direct reports and enforces rules fairly and uniformly.
