Job summary

The Whitney Museum of American Art is offering a spring 2027 internship in the Education department for the Community Programs and Partnerships team. The internship supports programs and curricula for community partners and senior centers, with a focus on social movements and art education.

The stipend is $3,000 for January 18 – April 26, 2027, with a part-time schedule of 16–21 hours per week. Eligible students should be enrolled in related programs; bilingual skills are a plus for partnerships

Qualifications

• Passionate about contemporary art and social movements.
• Knowledge of art education and community engagement is beneficial.
• Proficiency in additional languages is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for virtual/onsite programs and events.
• Prepare curriculum materials for freelance educators for community partners.
• Research artists in the Whitney’s collection and current exhibitions.
• Assist freelance educators offsite at community partnerships.
• Provide administrative support and maintain community programs spaces.
• Complete a final intern project connected to community programs and partnerships.
