Job summary

Central City Opera Company seeks an Associate Director of Education & Community Engagement to oversee school and community programs, residencies, and workshops. You will strategize, research, and help create new projects while maintaining program materials and equipment.

You will work to broaden audiences and build strong relationships with diverse communities. The role includes managing touring artists, coordinating with schools and venues, and leading family and youth programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in music, education, performing arts, arts administration, or related discipline.
• Experience with education and community engagement programs or outreach.
• Background check (CBI/FBI) required and clearance for on-site work.
• Valid Colorado driver’s license and ability to drive.
• Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Education in planning and managing all educational and community engagement activities.
• Oversee on-site execution, coordinate with teachers and partners, and lead staff and volunteers.
• Prepare monthly reports on attendance, demographics, surveys, and budgets.
• Coordinate Touring/Teaching Artists, manage materials and PR/marketing files.
• Lead teaching and touring activities, including vocal performances when needed.
• Manage production calendar and artist availability per program.
• Ensure artist qualifications, trainings, and travel logistics are in place.
• Collaborate on outreach, sales, marketing, and school partnerships.
• Develop resources guides for educators and the community.
• Lead virtual programs during the year when required.
• Foster inclusive collaboration and seek new revenue opportunities.
