Job summary

Houston Grand Opera seeks a Community Partnership Manager to lead engagement and education initiatives, including student performances, touring opera events, and school programs. You will supervise staff and act as a liaison with school districts and partners, aligning programs with HGO’s mission and goals.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of professional experience developing and supporting community engagement and building strategic partnerships.
• Existing relationships with Houston-area cultural, arts, education, civic, and community organizations and leaders.
• Ability to cultivate, maintain, and steward high-touch relationships with partners and stakeholders.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for diverse constituencies.
• Must complete a background check.

Responsibilities

• Execute current Community & Learning programming, focusing on diverse Houston communities and partners.
• Collaborate on budgets for programs, including quarterly forecasting and funding proposals.
• Represent HGO at school, arts, civic, and community events to build relationships.
• Own and steward relationships with community partners from planning to follow-up.
• Cultivate relationships with cultural institutions and schools to expand collaboration and visibility.
• Support recruitment and onboarding of teaching artists and performers for community programs.
• Provide onsite support at events at Wortham Theater Center and in the community.
• Work with Marketing to develop engaging educational materials for touring and mainstage programs.
