Job summary

The University of Minnesota is seeking a part-time educator to teach a supplemental course in its TRIO Upward Bound program for high school students in Minneapolis. Instructors will handle instruction, curriculum development, assessment, and coordination with a Teaching Assistant (TA) to deliver high-impact lessons.

The role requires BA/BS, classroom experience, and the ability to work with diverse student groups.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree required.
• Experience with direct classroom instruction.
• Experience working with diverse, multicultural/multilingual and urban high school students.
• Available October to May or January to May per Minneapolis Public School calendar.
• Ability to develop and deliver content considering diverse backgrounds and abilities.
• Ability to collaborate with people from diverse communities.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned course at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities campus (Appleby Hall).
• Monitor student attendance and document performance.
• Develop and revise curriculum and weekly lesson plans with differentiated instruction.
