Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania Department of Education, is seeking an Education Certification Evaluator to review educator certification applications, issue certifications, and assist applicants and education partners in meeting regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• One year of clerical experience with three months experience in direct data entry/retrieval on a computer terminal and six months experience with educational credential certification laws, rules, and regulations; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Responsibilities

• Review certification applications and determine compliance with rules and regulations.
• Approve applications, issue certifications, and request missing information when needed.
• Monitor pending applications and communicate with schools through the Teacher Information Management System.
• Respond to daily educator inquiries and guide them through the certification process.
• Staff the Certification Call Center to provide information and assistance to callers.
• Assist users in navigating PDE systems and support problem resolution efforts.
