Job summary

Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services (IRIS) in New Haven, CT, seeks an Education and Career Navigator to guide participants through ESOL, adult education, GED, and training opportunities. You will help clients develop self-sufficiency plans, coordinate referrals, and support enrollment and progress within the IRIS Advancement Pathways program.

This full-time, hybrid role requires strong relationship-building, documentation, and the ability to work with diverse cultures.

Qualifications

• Commitment to immigrant integration, adult education, workforce development, and economic mobility.
• Strong relationship-building skills to engage participants, staff, and partners.
• Experience with refugees, immigrants, or culturally diverse communities preferred.
• Knowledge of ESOL programs, credential evaluation, and community college pathways preferred.
• Comfort using Microsoft Office, databases, and digital communication tools.

Responsibilities

• Support participants in developing and following through on Self-Sufficiency Plans.
• Help participants set short- and long-term goals related to English learning, education, training, and employment.
• Maintain regular contact with participants to support progress and remove barriers.
• Coordinate with program staff to ensure appropriate education, employment, and support services.
• Document referrals, progress, and outcomes in required systems.
