Job summary

Springfield Technical Community College is seeking an Education and Career Advisor to support non-credit workforce programs and HiSET/ESOL pathways. You will provide proactive advising, help students create short- and long-term goals, and coordinate intake, orientation, and ongoing support across diverse populations.

You will work closely with staff to ensure access to resources, housing, technology, and academic planning, while maintaining detailed records and contributing to program goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in counseling, education or related field with two years of advising experience.
• Proficient with data entry and standard office software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to work with diverse student populations.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred; responsive and collaborative.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality advising to students facing barriers to success and connect them with resources.
• Meet regularly with students and alumni to develop education and career plans.
• Coordinate intake, orientation, appointments, and follow-up activities across programs.
• Maintain accurate student records and share data with program staff in a timely manner.
• Plan events, workshops, and activities to support college and career goals.
