Job summary

The Idaho Department of Juvenile Corrections seeks an Education Behavioral and Program Support Specialist to join our Boise HQ team, serving youth across Idaho's juvenile corrections education programs.

The role increases educational access by coordinating accommodations, MTSS and PBIS, conducting FBAs, and coaching staff to implement proactive behavioral and instructional supports. Travel to facilities statewide is required.

Qualifications

• Experience working directly with students with disabilities and/or significant behavioral needs.
• Experience conducting or assisting with behavioral assessments and the development of individualized behavior interventions.
• Experience collecting, analyzing, and using behavioral and academic data to guide interventions.
• Experience collaborating with teachers, special education staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience implementing proactive behavioral supports and teaching replacement skills rather than relying solely on punitive or consequence-based responses.
• Experience supporting students who demonstrate significant barriers to school attendance, engagement, participation, or academic success.
• Experience providing consultation, coaching, or professional development to staff related to behavior and student support.
• Experience working in a school, clinical, residential, juvenile justice, mental health, or other setting serving students or youth with significant behavioral needs.

Responsibilities

• Behavioral Assessment and Intervention: Conduct FBAs and develop behavioral interventions.
• Student Support and Program Accessibility: Adapt materials for accessibility and MTSS alignment.
• Teacher Coaching and Classroom Support: Model instruction and provide PD on supports.
• MTSS Leadership and Support: Assist in MTSS implementation and interventions.
