Job summary

Mesa Public Schools is seeking a Specialist – Behavioral Support to improve behavioral outcomes through tiered supports within the district framework. You will collaborate with administrators, staff, and families to build capacity for prevention, intervention, and data-based problem solving aligned with district expectations.

The role involves coaching, staff training, MTSS implementation, and ensuring safe, well‑managed classrooms across sites. Evening/weekend commitments may occur.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, or related field.
• Arizona teaching or special education certification.
• Three years of experience in behavior intervention, coaching, or related services.

Responsibilities

• Implements evidence-based behavioral strategies per BACB guidelines and MPS policies.
• Conducts classroom observations and functional behavior assessments.
• Develops and monitors PBIPs and reinforcement systems.
• Partners with behavior analysts on complex Tier 3 cases.
• Supports teachers with routines, expectations, and data-driven management.
• Reviews progress-monitoring data to adjust interventions.
