Job summary

Ashland School District 5 is seeking an Education Assistant-Math for Walker Elementary. This position is 0.5625 FTE, approximately 4.5 hours per day, probationary status.

Under licensed staff direction, you will work with students in small groups and one-on-one, assist with math, reading and writing tasks, and help with records and supervision. The job requires patience, clear communication in English, and the ability to follow district policies while maintaining confidentiality and a safe,

Qualifications

• Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; must meet current NCLB requirements.
• Prior successful experience in a school setting or with children strongly preferred.
• Fluent English in speaking and writing; ability to communicate clearly with students and staff.
• Proficient in basic computer skills and school software (MS Office, PowerSchool).

Responsibilities

• Assist students in small groups or one-on-one with math, reading and writing tasks.
• Maintain records, attendance, and progress notes as directed by licensed staff.
• Supervise students during recess, lunch, and classroom activities to ensure safety.
• Assist in preparing instructional materials, copying, and organizing classroom supplies.
