Job summary

CPCD is seeking an Education Assistant to support classroom staff with daily routines, drop-off and pick-up, meal prep, school bus monitoring, and staff break coverage. This part-time position runs 16-18 hours per week from August through May, with summers off and a September 14 start date.

Ideal candidates have a HS diploma or GED; CDA/Level 2 and CPR/First Aid are preferred. The role offers growth opportunities and a comprehensive benefits package for eligible employees.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a pre-employment physical examination and background check.

Pay Scale

• Step 1: High school diploma or equivalent & relevant experience
  • $16.16/hr.
• Step 2: Leve 1 Credential
  • $16.26/hr.
• Step 3: CDA or Level 2
  • $17.06/hr.
• Step 4: Teacher Certification or DQ
  • $17.41

• Must be able to lift/carry/manipulate up to 40 pounds.

• HS diploma or GED
• Must obtain and maintain adult/infant CPR and first aid certification within 90-days of employment.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment physical examination, TB test, drug test (including marijuana), and background check in accordance with the Office of Head Start Performance Standards and Childcare Licensing. (Physical examination and TB test thereafter as required).
• Must have access to reliable transportation with minimum liability insurance as determined by the State of Colorado; to perform functions of the job, including being able to go to another location during the workday if necessary.

Preferred

• At least one year of successful work experience with children birth to age three and/or to age five.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish languages
• CACFP food training
• Bus Safety Training
