Job summary

CPCD in Colorado Springs is hiring an Education Assistant to support daily classroom operations. The role runs August through May with summers off and offers 16–18 hours per week.

You will assist with drop-off and pick-up, meals, bus monitoring, and staff break coverage while ensuring safety and a positive learning environment for children.

Pay Scale

• Step 1: High school diploma or equivalent & relevant experience
• Step 2: Level 1 Credential
• Step 3: CDA or Level 2
• Step 4: Teacher Certification or DQ

Pay Scale continued: $16.16/hr. $16.26/hr. $17.06/hr. $17.41/hr.

Required

• Must be able to lift/carry/manipulate up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to work with multiple staff members in one setting
• HS diploma or GED
• Must obtain and maintain adult/infant CPR and first aid certification within 90-days of employment.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment physical examination, TB test, drug test (including marijuana), and background check in accordance with the Office of Head Start Performance Standards and Childcare Licensing. (Physical examination and TB test thereafter as required).
• Must have access to reliable transportation with minimum liability insurance as determined by the State of Colorado; to perform functions of the job, including being able to go to another location during the workday if necessary.

Preferred

• At least one year of successful work experience with children birth to age three and/or to age five.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish languages
• CACFP food training
• Bus Safety Training
