Job description

Insight Global is currently hiring an Education and Outreach Manager for a large government client in the Richmond, VA area. This role will start as a contract but may convert permanently with the team around 6‑12 months based on performance.

This position requires working fully onsite in the downtown Richmond area during standard work hours. The Outreach Manager will be a member of the Communications Team helping manage and support the department’s mission to provide timely and accurate information to the public and internal audiences on utility services, programs, projects, and consumer responsibilities.

Base pay range

$38.00/hr - $45.00/hr

Responsibilities

• Actively manage the day‑to‑day activities of the education and outreach functions to ensure the successful execution of public awareness, outreach, and education initiatives.
• Assist with comprehensive and strategic communications, marketing, public relations, and outreach strategies within the Department to enhance public education and awareness.
• Assist with content for department‑controlled websites and intranet, including written and digital content.
• Develop system for documenting, tracking, and reporting progress.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Business, Public Administration or similar field.
• Four years of journey‑level professional experience in an area related to the assignment, such as program/project management.
• Two years of managing staff to include managing workflow, leading teams to high levels of performance, evaluating performance and providing feedback.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
