Qualifications

• The Education Administrator oversees all academic programming within our year-round school serving youth in a psychiatric hospital setting.
• This position supervises educational staff, ensures compliance with state and federal requirements, and maintains high-quality learning environments that meet the unique needs of our students.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, and evaluate academic programs to ensure consistent, needs-based educational services.
• Develop and maintain curriculum aligned with credit standards; assess programs semi-annually and implement corrective action plans as needed.
• Manage the academic budget, review and approve purchasing requests, and ensure compliance with procurement and grant requirements.
• Conduct regular classroom visits to evaluate instruction, student engagement, and overall program impact.
• Complete required state, federal, accreditation, and institutional reporting.
• Ensure safety, cleanliness, and visual appeal of all instructional areas.
• Collaborate with public schools on transcripts, student re-entry, and special services.
• Coordinate with treatment teams to align academic and clinical objectives.
• Supervise Educators and Education Aides, complete performance evaluations, manage staff leave, address disciplinary issues, and provide instructional coverage when needed.
• Provide student counseling related to discipline, transcripts, and future educational planning.
• Participate in assigned committees, interview prospective academic staff, attend annual training, and represent the institution at statewide education administrator meetings.
