Job summary

State of Missouri is seeking a devoted teacher to join Hawthorn Children’s Psychiatric Hospital’s inpatient and residential program. You will tailor instruction for 4-8 students in a mixed-ability classroom, align with Missouri DESE standards, and collaborate with educators and community partners to support each student’s potential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education from an accredited university.
• Post-baccalaureate teaching experience of 4 years in a state-accredited school.
• Missouri DESE certification (Lifetime or CCPC) with Special Education area.

Responsibilities

• Individualize instruction for 4–8 students in a mixed-ability classroom.
• Revise, develop and implement IEPs and Section 504 plans.
• Attend and contribute to multi-disciplinary meetings about students in your classroom.
• Develop treatment goals for classroom use and report weekly on those goals.
• Model and teach social skills to students in your classroom.
• Keep attendance and academic records and report as required.
