Job summary

The Northern California VA Health Care System seeks a board-certified or board-eligible physician to provide primary care in the clinic setting, evaluating and treating outpatients and coordinating care with a multidisciplinary team.

You will perform histories and physicals, prescribe medications, and manage routine tests, while ensuring comprehensive documentation and patient-centered care. The position supports teaching residents and leveraging VA systems.

Qualifications

• United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens.
• Current - full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State - Territory - or Commonwealth of the United States.
• Residency Training: physicians must have completed residency training approved by the VA.
• Board certification or eligibility in internal medicine or family medicine preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate care for outpatient panel and provide primary care in clinic setting.
• Evaluate and treat acute and chronic health problems and perform histories and physical exams.
• Prescribe medications, order tests, and interpret results; document findings and disposition.
