Job summary

Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians is seeking a skilled cook to prepare, season and cook sauces, meats and vegetables from standardized recipes in our restaurant. You will plate dishes, maintain an appealing presentation, and keep the workstation clean to ensure quality and safety.

Applicants should have knife skills and be able to read institutional recipes. About two years of institutional kitchen experience is preferred; must pass drug screening and background checks and be available

Qualifications

• Must have knife skills and the ability to read standardized institutional recipes.
• Two years’ experience in institutional food preparation including broiler, sauté and frying skills (as noted in requirements).
• Must pass periodic random drug screens.
• Must pass background suitability investigation.
• Must obtain Tribal Gaming License and any other applicable licenses.

Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding customer service by exceeding our mission statement.

• Prepare raw products or prepared food items.
• Serve prepared food items.
• Clean and sanitize workstation.
• Coordinate guest checks to provide fast service.
• Able to work hot line and/or buffet stations.
• Perform general cleaning tasks to meet health standards.
• Follow all safety policies and training.
• Read and use institutional recipes with accuracy.
• Know proper use and care of kitchen equipment.
• Must follow tribal and internal control standards.
