Job summary

SureFire is seeking an EDM Programmer/Operator to program and operate wire EDM machines to produce precision components from engineering drawings. You will collaborate with engineering and quality teams to interpret blueprints, select tooling, and optimize machining parameters for tight tolerances.

You will perform routine maintenance, inspect parts with precision instruments, maintain production records, and follow lean and 6S practices.

Qualifications

Technical certification or associate degree in manufacturing technology or a related field preferred.
Familiarity with CAD/CAM software and CNC machining principles is beneficial.
Strong understanding of blueprint reading and GD&T is desirable.

Responsibilities

Program EDM machines using CAD/CAM software to create machining instructions from engineering drawings.
Set up and operate wire EDM machines, install electrodes, fixtures, and monitor cycles.
Perform routine maintenance and calibration of EDM equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Inspect finished parts with precision measuring instruments to verify conformance to specifications.
Collaborate with engineers and quality control to resolve machining issues and implement improvements.
