Job summary

ContractStaffingRecruiters.com is seeking a skilled Wire EDM Operator to set up, operate, and monitor wire EDM equipment for precision components in our manufacturing facility. You will interpret drawings, select tooling and wire, and adjust parameters to meet tight tolerances.

You will also program and edit CNC Wire EDM programs, perform first-piece inspections with micrometers, calipers, and CMMs, and maintain documentation while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Experience operating Wire EDM equipment to tight tolerances.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers).

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Wire EDM machines to produce precision parts and components.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and work instructions.
• Load and secure workpieces and select appropriate wire, tooling, and machining parameters.
• Program and/or edit CNC Wire EDM programs as required.
• Monitor machine operation and maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
• Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, CMMs, and other precision measuring equipment.
• Troubleshoot machining problems, wire breaks, dimensional issues, and machine alarms.
• Maintain accurate production and inspection records and follow safety procedures.
