Job summary

Moog is seeking an EDM Machinist II for the 2nd shift at the Buffalo, NY site to fabricate high-precision components for aerospace programs. You will set up production and prototype parts on EDM machines and ensure drawings and specifications are met.

This role requires at least 3 years as a diversified machinist, ability to read engineering drawings, and compliance with FAA drug and alcohol program; a $3,500 sign-on bonus applies for qualified applicants.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred; ability to understand and follow verbal, written and computer work instructions in English.
• At least 3 years as a diversified machinist.
• Enrollment in FAA Drug & Alcohol Program is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform set-ups for production and prototype parts.
• Specify electrode size/config and determine EDM sequence without operation sheets.
• Verify all set-ups meet operation sheet and engineering drawings.
• Utilize inspection equipment to maintain very tight tolerances.
• Train and monitor EDM Operators.
• Operate the Surface Grinder to regrind electrodes.
• Establish EDM machine parameters for proper machining rates.
• Detect unusual conditions and report findings to supervisor.
