Job summary

Moog Inc is seeking an EDM Machinist for the 3rd shift in Buffalo, NY. You'll manufacture precise components for flight-critical programs with emphasis on quality, safety, and reliability.

As part of the Military Aircraft Group, you will set up and operate EDM machines, verify tolerances, and mentor EDM Operators while maintaining a strong commitment to process control and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to understand and apply verbal, written and computer work instructions in English.
  • Minimum 4 years as a diversified machinist.
  • Compliance with FAA Safety Sensitive Work program requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform set-ups for production and prototype parts.
  • Specify electrode size/configuration and EDM operation sequences.
  • Verify set-ups meet operation sheets and drawings.
  • Use inspection equipment for tight tolerances.
  • Train and monitor EDM Operators and transfer between machines as needed.
  • Operate Surface Grinder to regrind electrodes.
  • Establish EDM machine parameters for proper rates.

Job Title: EDM Machinist - 3rd Shift

Work Schedule: Onsite - Buffalo, NY

As a machinist within our Military Aircraft Group, you will machine some of the most challenging parts which will be used on major production programs such as F-35, MQ-25, and FLRAA.

Currently, we are seeking a skilled EDM machinist who takes pride in precision craftsmanship and wants to see their work contribute to some of the world's most advanced programs. In this role, you'll manufacture complex, high-precision components used in flight-critical systems where quality, reliability, and performance are non-negotiable.

This position is eligible for a $3,500 sign-on bonus. To qualify, candidates must submit their application between July 20, 2026, and September 11, 2026, and is subject to the terms of the bonus agreement.

To be considered for this role, here's what you'll need to bring with you:

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.Otherwise, demonstrated ability to understand and apply all verbal, written and computer work instructions or training in English, and demonstrated ability to perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
  • At least 4 years as a diversified machinist
  • In accordance with strict Federal Aviation Administration (F.A.A.) regulations regarding Safety Sensitive Work (S.S.W.), employee enrollment & participation in the company's "F.A.A. Drug & Alcohol Program" is a requirement for this position.
  • Responsible to perform set-ups for production and prototype parts.
  • Specify size and configuration of electrodes and determine sequence of EDM operations in the absence of operation sheets.
  • Verify all set-ups to meet operation sheet and engineering drawing requirements.
  • Utilize various inspection equipment to work to very close tolerances.
  • Train and monitor the work of EDM Operators.
  • Effectively utilize all EDM machines in area as they will transfer the operator from machine to machine while they perform new set-ups or adjustments to set-ups.
  • Operate the Surface Grinder within their department to regrind electrodes.
  • Establish EDM machine parameters for proper machining rates.
  • Detect unusual conditions such as uneven electrode wear, defective material, etc., and report findings to supervisor.

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $32.00-$37.00 Hourly
