Job summary

Moog is seeking an EDM Machinist II for the 2nd shift in Buffalo, NY. The role involves precise setup and operation of EDM machines to produce high‑quality, flight‑critical components for major aerospace programs, with emphasis on safety and accuracy.

You will train others, ensure parts meet drawings, and contribute to a culture of reliability and performance in a challenging manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred, or demonstrated ability to understand and apply instructions in English.
• At least 3 years as a diversified machinist.
• FAA Drug & Alcohol Program compliance is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform set-ups for production and prototype parts.
• Specify electrode size and sequence EDM operations when operation sheets are unavailable.
• Verify set-ups meet operation sheets and engineering drawings.
• Use inspection equipment to work to tight tolerances.
• Train and monitor EDM Operators.
• Operate and transfer between EDM machines for new setups and adjustments.
• Operate the Surface Grinder to regrind electrodes.
• Establish EDM machine parameters for proper machining rates.
• Identify unusual conditions and report findings to supervisor.
