Job summary

SumUp in London is seeking a Senior Content & Editorial Lead to shape and enforce the company’s global verbal identity. You will guide editorial standards, review and refine copy across channels, and partner with Design, Marketing and Product to translate briefs into strong creative direction for internal writers and freelancers.

You will define the tone of voice, messaging hierarchies, and approved terminology, while mentoring a growing team.

Qualifications

• Portfolio demonstrating distinctive, commercially effective writing across brand, campaigns and digital formats

Responsibilities

• Set and enforce editorial standards across the Global Content Chapter.
• Review, edit and approve copy across campaigns, social, CRM, retail and sales.
• Build and evolve the verbal identity system: tone of voice guidelines, messaging hierarchies, terminology.
• Partner with Design, Marketing, Product and regional teams to turn briefs into clear direction for writers and freelancers.
• Brief, manage and quality control freelance copywriters and agencies to protect brand integrity.
• Evaluate AI writing tools and set standards for responsible use.
