Yahoo Finance is seeking a Director, Editorial Programming to lead content programming across its website, mobile web, app, and push notifications. This senior leader will translate editorial judgment into platform strategy, develop teams, and partner with product and content stakeholders.

You’ll set vision and standards for the team, drive real-time decisions, and ensure content distribution aligns with Yahoo Finance’s broader audience strategy across surfaces.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in digital news or editorial leadership.
• 7+ years of people management.
• Proven news judgment in fast-paced environments.
• Experience with CMS tools and editorial workflows.
• Strong analytics and audience development skills.

Responsibilities

• Own the editorial programming strategy across Yahoo Finance's website, mobile web, app, and push notifications.
• Lead the push notification function with strategy, audience targeting, cadence, and performance expectations.
• Manage, mentor and develop an editorial team across multiple time zones.
• Own team staffing and scheduling for 24/7 coverage across platforms.
• Embed analytics to drive real-time decisions and long-term strategy.
• Partner with product and engineering to shape roadmap for push capabilities and tools.
• Create distribution plans for major news moments and company priorities.
• Build partnerships across editorial, video, social, SEO, product, engineering, and analytics.
• Establish editorial standards for leveraging AI tools to accelerate headlines and packaging.
• Oversee KPI ownership across web, app, and alerts with AI-driven insights.
• Oversee curation of partner content and Yahoo Finance original journalism.
