Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Manager, Content Developer to lead editors responsible for the development, production, quality control, and publication of assessment exams in the United States. You will provide day-to-day people leadership, workload planning, and cross-functional coordination to ensure materials are accurate, secure, standards-aligned, and delivered on schedule.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Five+ years in editorial, publishing, or assessment environments.
  • Three+ years leading editors or cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with high-stakes assessment or item banking preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of editors including assignments, onboarding and professional development.
  • Oversee editorial and production workflows for exams, study guides, and related materials.
  • Plan capacity, prioritize deliverables, and monitor schedules across programs.
  • Ensure work adheres to client requirements, style guides, accessibility, quality, and security.
  • Collaborate with content developers, psychometricians, project managers, and publishing teams to align requirements.
  • Review status, identify risks, and implement mitigation plans.
  • Support quality control activities including proofreading, metadata review, and final production.
  • Maintain procedures and logs to support consistency and knowledge transfer.
  • Analyze workflow data and defects to drive process improvements.
  • Promote collaborative, inclusive culture focused on accuracy and service to educators and learners.
