Job summary

Mattel Publishing seeks a Sr Associate Managing Editor to coordinate editorial workflows, schedules, and asset management across licensed and global programs. You will partner with Editorial, Production, Creative, Licensing, and external partners to ensure on-time content delivery.

Responsibilities include managing freelancers, packagers, and stills workflows, ensuring accuracy of manuscripts, artwork, and metadata, and overseeing eBook production and digital publication processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Publishing, English, Communications, Journalism, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of experience in book publishing, managing editorial, production editorial, or publishing operations.
• Experience coordinating external vendors, freelancers, packagers, or creative partners.

Responsibilities

• Own low-complexity titles from manuscript through print-ready files, coordinating vendors and with Production for timely print.
• Support editorial workflows across programs, ensuring deliverables stay on schedule from manuscript to final production.
• Coordinate editorial schedules and milestones, maintaining visibility into project status and risks.
