Job description

To define, defend, and scale the creative identity of an entirely new format—the Plotsy vBook™. How You Will Spend Your Time
  • 40% Edit & Cut Reviews: Auditing rough and fine cuts, synthesizing feedback, and issuing final approvals.
  • 20% Script & Development Review: Pressure-testing screenplays and adaptation plans early on the page.
  • 20% Showrunner Leadership & Management: Coaching, alignment meetings, and acting as creative air cover.
  • 10% Strategic Collaboration: Aligning with the Chief Content Officer on portfolio health and shared authority.
  • 10% Systems & Talent: Updating creative playbooks, leading post-mortems, and scouting the AI talent landscape.
Daily Responsibilities
  • Review Cuts: Evaluate rough and Fine Cuts on a daily cadence across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Enforce Note Discipline: Deliver specific, prioritized, and actionable edit notes that separate true improvements from personal preferences.
  • Sign-Off on Locks: Co-execute Fine Cut authority with the assigned executive to formally lock episodes for delivery.
  • Approve Screenplays: Review and greenlight episodic scripts before they enter production
  • Pressure-Test Adaptations: Evaluate what gets cut, compressed, or highlighted to ensure the adaptation honors the source book.
  • Manage Showrunners: Hold senior creative talent to high standards while actively supporting their growth.
  • Absorb External Pressure: Shield your teams from executive friction, helping them balance creative vision with schedule realities.
  • Own the Playbook: Continuously update style standards and codify lessons from project post-mortems.
  • Pipeline Check: Verify that scripts stay within the realistic boundaries of current AI video/image generation technology.

  • Elite Note Craft: Mastery in giving critical, precise feedback that elevates the project while preserving relationships.
  • Adaptation Expertise: As Plotsy’s consistent voice of quality and craftsmanship from pre-production through final delivery, you bring deep fluency in literary adaptation, episodic structure, the written page, and the final edit.
