Job summary

American International Industries, Inc is seeking an experienced EDI & SQL Database Administrator to join our IT team in Commerce, CA. The role supports a growing manufacturing and distribution environment with 500-1,000 employees and over 400 users, offering onsite work with flexible hours.

The ideal candidate will manage Microsoft SQL Server databases, ensure performance, security, and DR, and support ERP and WMS integrations including Epicor Kinetic systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of Microsoft SQL Server DBA experience.
• 5+ years of database analysis experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience supporting Epicor ERP/Kinetic.
• Strong knowledge of SQL Server Administration, performance tuning, and DR.
• Experience with HA solutions (Always On, clustering, replication) and security/compliance.

Responsibilities

• Administer, monitor, maintain, and optimize Microsoft SQL Server environments.
• Perform database installation, configuration, upgrades, and patch management.
• Implement and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Monitor database performance and implement tuning initiatives.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database issues to minimize downtime.
• Manage database security, user access and compliance.
• Support high-availability solutions including Always On and replication.
• Maintain and enhance data warehouses and reporting environments.
• Develop automation solutions using PowerShell and T-SQL.
• Support EDI production processes and integrations.
• Maintain and support Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and business teams on database initiatives.
• Analyze ERP system data, with emphasis on Epicor Kinetic environments.
• Create reports, dashboards, and BI solutions to support operational needs.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by IT Management.

This is a 5-days ONSITE role located in Commerce, CA.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced EDI & SQL Database Administrator (DBA) to join our growing IT team supporting a leading manufacturer and distributor of Beauty, Skincare, and Personal Care products. This role supports over 400 users across an organization of 500-1,000 employees and offers flexible working hours in a collaborative, success-oriented environment.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience administering Microsoft SQL Server databases within a manufacturing environment, along with exposure to ERP and WMS systems. This position is responsible for ensuring database reliability, performance, security, and availability while supporting critical business applications and data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer, monitor, maintain, and optimize Microsoft SQL Server environments.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of Microsoft SQL Server Database Administration experience.
• 5+ years of database analysis experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience supporting ERP systems, preferably Epicor ERP/Kinetic.
• Strong knowledge of:

• Programming experience with Python, Java, JSON, or related technologies.
• Experience with data warehouse architecture and business intelligence reporting.
