Job summary

Fastly is seeking a Threat Detection Analyst to join our Customer Security Operations Centre. You will monitor traffic across Fastly’s edge cloud platform, detect anomalies, and deploy real-time mitigations against DDoS, Bot, and Web Application attacks.

This role partners with MSS clients to tailor security policies and provide rapid, expert guidance during incidents. We value strong web security expertise, deep protocol knowledge, and the ability to communicate complex findings clearly to both

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of OWASP Top 10 and attack vectors such as credential stuffing, API abuse, and Layer 7 DDoS.
• Deep knowledge of HTTP/S, TCP/IP, DNS, and TLS for traffic analysis and incident response.
• Methodical forensics and ability to correlate data in JSON or CSV logs.
• Ability to translate complex findings into concise communications for diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Active Incident Response: identify and mitigate high-impact security events with real-time countermeasures.
• Managed Security Delivery: tune security policies for MSS customers and maintain a hardened posture.
• Advanced Threat Hunting: data-driven investigations to uncover threats and harden defenses.
• Security Reporting: write After Action Reports and monthly summaries for stakeholders.
• Strategic Communication: act as SME during incidents and guide customers with clear, confident updates.
