Job summary

Fastly, Inc. is seeking a Senior Security Engineer in Detection Engineering to build detections across cloud, edge, and on‑prem environments. You will design AI-driven agents, automate detection, and lead investigations to determine root causes, while integrating EDR, SOAR, and SIEM tools.

Qualifications

Direct experience integrating AI tools, LLMs, and automated agents into security operations workflows.
Experience developing, testing, and tuning detections using a detections-as-code approach with version control/CI/CD.
Proven track record of leading complex security incident investigations with log analysis and containment.

Responsibilities

Develop detections and analytics to identify threats across cloud, container, and edge environments.
Lead security investigations, analyzing logs and telemetry to determine root cause.
Build AI agents and automations to speed up detection development and incident response.
Research, evaluate, implement, and maintain security tools (EDR, SOAR, SIEM).
Conduct threat hunts to discover unknown malicious activity.
Participate in on-call rotations.
