Acuity Intelligent Spaces is seeking a Research Engineer to bridge applied machine learning research, software engineering, and spatial intelligent environments. You will architect, prototype, and deploy intelligent software components that transform buildings and room environments into responsive, context-aware spaces.

You will productionize machine learning and computer vision models while integrating with AV control infrastructure (QSC/Q-SYS ecosystems), Distech Controls, and Atrius IoT

Qualificações

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Software Eng: 3+ years of software development with Python and OO design principles.
• ML Eng: Experience developing, fine-tuning, and deploying ML models using PyTorch, TensorFlow, ONNX, or TensorRT for edge/real-time apps.
• CV Knowledge: Understanding of CV fundamentals, image processing, object detection, spatial sensing (OpenCV).
• AV/Control: Familiarity with AV/C tech, QSC/Q-SYS core architectures, Lua scripting, or control API integrations.
• API/Networking: Experience with REST APIs, gRPC, MQTT, WebSockets, and protocols used in AV/IoT.

Responsabilidades

• Design, build, test, and deploy ML pipelines and models for real-time edge/cloud inference.
• Implement vision-based apps for occupancy analytics and spatial perception.
• Develop software integrations with AV ecosystems (QSC/Q-SYS, audio flow, smart room AV).
• Write production-grade code (Python/C/C++, Go, or TypeScript) for edge devices and microservices.
• Prototype to production: validate spatial intelligence algorithms and scale to platform services.
• Collaborate across hardware, firmware, software, and product teams to translate research into solutions.
