Sage, a care intelligence platform for senior living, invites a Software Engineering Intern to join the Edge team. You will work at the boundary of on-site devices and cloud infrastructure, shipping production code with a mentor, and presenting results to the engineering org at summer's end.

You will gain experience with fleet telemetry, diagnostic tooling, and automation across IoT components, with guidance and hands-on practice on real hardware in environments you can't control.

Competenze

• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Solid fundamentals in Java, Python, or other OO languages; willingness to work in Java.
• Familiarity with Linux and terminal usage.
• Curiosity about how software meets hardware: networking, embedded systems, or IoT.
• Bias toward tinkering and hands-on debugging.
• Clear communication and eagerness to ask questions.

Mansioni

• Design, build, and ship a summer project for the Edge team under mentor guidance.
• Write backend services in Java for thousands of on-premise devices.
• Work with Linux-based edge devices: flashing, configuring, debugging, and handling unreliable networks.
• Build tooling to improve fleet observability and remote diagnostics.
• Participate in code reviews and design discussions with the full engineering team.
• Learn how a production IoT system spanning LoRaWAN, BLE, and cloud services operates at scale.
