Job summary

Telnyx LLC is seeking a Developer Advocate to drive developer relations, solutions engineering, and hands-on hardware work across IoT and edge AI. You will craft demos, publish sample apps, and create engaging content for developers and technical buyers.

You will design benchmarks, perform field deployments on real devices, and collaborate with AI/ML teams to showcase Telnyx network advantages at the edge. This role requires rapid prototyping and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Experienced developer relations engineer, solutions engineer, or developer advocate with a public portfolio of demos or talks.
• Ability to produce polished, high-production YouTube videos with strong video editing and visual design skills.
• Exceptional writer and researcher who creates original, people-first content.
• Hands-on developer comfortable writing, testing, and debugging C/C++ and Python for devices, plus JavaScript/TypeScript or Go for cloud/edge apps.
• Hands-on experience with cellular or IoT connectivity, such as SIM/eSIM provisioning.
• Proven experience designing and running benchmarks with rigorous methodology.
• Solid grasp of networking fundamentals (BGP, IPsec, VPCs, cloud interconnects).
• Working knowledge of LLM inference and AI application patterns.
• Operator mentality who ships working demos quickly.
• Experience in a developer relations or solutions engineering role at an IoT, networking, telecom, or cloud company.
• Hands-on experience with Raspberry Pi, ESP32, cellular modems, or MQTT.
• Familiarity with data residency, privacy, and security in regulated industries.
• Experience presenting live demos at conferences or meetups.
• Bonus: familiarity with SEO or how AI answer engines cite content.
• Comfort working in a fast-moving startup with high autonomy.

Responsibilities

• Benchmarking: Design and run repeatable benchmarks for latency, throughput, reliability, and cost.
• Field Demos on Real Devices: Build demos on Telnyx IoT SIM/eSIM with real hardware, travel for field demos.
• Edge AI Use Cases: Create reference demos showing AI runs near devices and users.
• Compliance by Configuration: Demonstrate in-region inference and data residency configurations.
• Sample Apps & Open Source: Publish demos and repos, keep them updated with current APIs/SDKs.
• Developer Advocacy: Present demos via videos, livestreams, workshops, and conferences.
• Developer Feedback Loop: Bring field friction points back to Product/Engineering.
