Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Hardware Development Engineer for the EC2 Networking and Outpost hardware team within AWS. You will contribute to fast-paced, secure hardware at world-class scale, interfacing with customers and cross‑functional teams to improve cloud infrastructure reliability.

You will partner with vendors/ODM/JDM teams to transfer designs into scalable production, addressing systemic issues and building mechanisms to operate at edge and data center scale.

Qualifications

• BS degree in EE, CE, or CS.
• 3+ years of experience with complex server, storage, or network server designs.
• 3+ years of experience developing functional specifications, design verification plans, functional test procedures, and operational repair plans.
• 3+ years of experience with debugging and root‑cause analysis of PCIe, memory, storage subsystems or networking.
• 1+ year of advanced support experience managing customer escalations to quickly identify root cause and resolve issues in a large‑scale production environment (data center or similar)

Responsibilities

• interfacing with our internal and external customers to understand project requirements and facilitate system development on top of your server design.
• solving operational challenges to our existing fleet with the goal of improving the current customer experience as well as developing improved systems for future designs.
• You will work directly with vendors and ODM/JDM design teams to develop and manufacture your product at scale.
