Chainguard is hiring a Senior Engineering Manager for Container Product Engineering. You will lead a ~15-engineer team, owning people, roadmap, and delivery end-to-end. This is a Director-track position reporting to the VP of Engineering for Containers, Libraries, and Repositories.

The role emphasizes leading senior engineers, driving architectural clarity, and staying hands-on when needed, with strong collaboration across product, security, and platform teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering with leadership experience.
• Experience managing senior engineers (Staff/Principal).
• Proven track record shipping customer-facing features at scale.
• Strong communication and remote-work discipline.
• Comfort with AI-assisted development tooling and intrinsic security.

Responsibilities

• Lead Container Product Engineering team of ~15 engineers; set goals and cadence.
• Coach senior engineers; sponsor growth, performance feedback, and hiring.
• Partner with Product to turn requirements into outcomes and roadmaps.
• Maintain technical bar; review designs and ensure delivery quality.
