Job Description

Automation Personnel Services is seeking an experienced and skilled Edge Band Machine Operator for a company based in Powder Springs, GA. The operator is responsible for operating and maintaining the edge banding machine to ensure precise and efficient application of edge banding materials to wood-based products. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a keen eye for quality to meet strict standards.

Pay Rate

$18.00 per hour

Schedule

Monday through Thursday, 6:30am to 5:00pm

Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up the edge banding machine, including selecting materials and adjusting settings according to specifications.
• Tend the machine that applies glue and veneer strips to edges, including pouring glue, placing veneer, and adjusting conveyor and trimming saws.
• Operate the machine to apply glue, press veneer strips, and trim edges flush.
• Set temperature controls for drying plates and adjust as needed.
• Brush glue on panels, align stock, and activate presses to bond veneer strips.
• Conduct visual inspections for quality, address defects, and perform routine maintenance on the machine.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Experience in the millwork industry preferred
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Computer skills and familiarity with collaboration tools are preferred
