Job summary

Karman is expanding its engineering team to productionalize its IoT platform, focusing on edge software that runs on devices with high performance, security, and reliability requirements. You will work with Python, Linux, and CI/CD, collaborating across software, hardware, QA, data science, and leadership to deliver robust distributed systems.

The role emphasizes design, testing, and debugging at scale, with opportunities to mentor others and contribute to architectural leadership.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience including 3+ years building production software and systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and test resource-constrained edge software in Python (and possibly Rust).
• Create and maintain CI/CD processes to support reproducible development and deployment.
• Contribute to internal and external technical documentation.
• Collaborate with software, hardware, QA, data scientists, and leadership.
• Provide high-quality code and architecture reviews and lead feature development.
• Drive process improvement and automation across projects.
• Foster open communication and continual improvement.
• Mentor other engineers via paired programming and test design.
