Job summary

Karman is hiring a hands-on Technician to support deployment, integration, testing, and operation of high-density AI/HPC electrical infrastructure. This role bridges electrical infrastructure, HPC/data center deployment, pilot/pre-production systems, and engineering support in Ann Arbor, MI.

The ideal candidate will work across rack-level power systems, pilot builds, lab infrastructure, and field installations, collaborating with hardware engineering to debug, validate, and document repeatable

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist with system bring‑up, debugging, and validation testing.
• Help develop repeatable build and test processes.
• Identify integration issues prior to production scaling.
• Support HW engineering teams during iterative development.

Karman is a fast-growing NVIDIA-backed AI company enabling AI data centers to dynamically orchestrate power and unlock more compute capacity from existing energy infrastructure. For over a decade, we have applied AI to the electric grid, bringing real-time visibility and power-flow control to complex energy infrastructure. Our Karman platform, built on a custom NVIDIA module, brings that same capability to AI data centers, giving operators a way to better use the power already available to them.

Join our team as a Technician supporting the deployment, integration, testing, and operation of high-density AI/HPC electrical infrastructure and pilot systems. This role will work across rack-level power systems, pilot/pre-production unit deployments, lab infrastructure, and field installations. The ideal candidate is hands‑on, technically adaptable, and comfortable working in fast‑moving engineering environments, bringing a blend of electrical infrastructure experience, mechanical aptitude, a debug/troubleshooting mindset, and the ability to work in evolving engineering environments. This is not a traditional facilities‑only or production‑only role: it bridges electrical infrastructure, HPC/data center deployment, pilot/pre‑production systems, and engineering support.

Minimum Qualifications

Enhanced Qualifications (Nice to Have)

• Experience supporting data center, HPC, or critical power infrastructure deployments
• Experience with prototype, pilot, NPI (New Product Introduction), or pre‑production hardware builds
• Familiarity with PLCs, industrial controls, instrumentation, or automation systems
• Experience commissioning, troubleshooting, or integrating complex electrical/mechanical systems
• Experience developing technical documentation, test procedures, SOPs, or installation standards
• Journeyman or Master Electrician License
• OSHA 10/30, NFPA 70E, or equivalent electrical safety certification
• PLC/Controls training or manufacturer certifications (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Beckhoff, etc.)
• Data Center Operations, Commissioning, or Critical Facilities training/certification

Salary Range:

$100,000 to $130,000 base compensation depending on experience. Salary will be commensurate with an individual’s skills, training, years of experience, and in line with internal compensation bands.

Location:

This position is based at our company headquarters in Ann Arbor, Michigan, with flexibility for occasional remote work.
