Job summary

Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, ME, seeks an Emergency Department Technician for the Per Diem Day shift (645-1915). The role supports RNs, provides basic nursing care for non-critical patients, and helps maintain a safe ED environment.

Requirements include high school diploma, EMT certification or CNA as required by state, BLS within 30 days, knowledge of medical terminology, and at least six months in acute care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current EMT Certification or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), if required by the State
• Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Technician in the Emergency Department is an unlicensed non-certified assistive person who assists with activities of daily living.
• Provides basic nursing care to non-critical patients under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.
• Maintains a safe environment in the department as directed by staff.
