Job summary

Temecula Valley Hospital is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to support ED operations and patient care. The role includes assisting nurses and physicians, transporting patients, and documenting care in the EDIS system.

Strong communication and basic computer skills are essential, with certification requirements as listed above. Ideal candidates hold EMT/CNA/MA credentials, BLS certification, and are prepared to obtain additional certifications within specified timeframes.

Qualifications

• Emergency Department Technician role requires EMT, CNA or Medical Assistant.
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association is required.
• Dysrhythmia certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Phlebotomy certification (CA) preferred.
• CPI certification within first 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients to ancillary departments as needed.
• Assists RNs and physicians with assessments and treatments.
• Assists unit clerk with clerical duties as directed by Clinical Supervisor.
• Documents care in the ED information system: vital signs, bedside care, observations.
• Provides telephone services and directs calls; pages physicians as needed; overviews safety codes.
