Job summary

UofL Health's University Hospital - UMC in Louisville, KY seeks an Emergency Department Tech to assist with patient care under RN supervision. The role emphasizes rapid response, vital signs, phlebotomy, EKG lead placement, and safe transport within a busy ED.

Night shift 7P–7A offers exposure to trauma and critical care support, including equipment management, infection control, and accurate charting across multiple systems. Appropriate CPR/BLS certification is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of EMT, Medical Assistant, or Clinical Assistant program.
• Knowledge of computers.
• AHA CPR certification

Responsibilities

• Respond to lifesaving situations.
• Take vital signs, intake/output, height/weight.
• Perform phlebotomy and 12-lead EKG under RN direction.
• Assist with admission, transfer, discharge; transport specimens.
• Prepare charts and reports; maintain medical records.
• Maintain infection control and safety policies.
