Job summary

Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas seeks an Emergency Department Technician to support patient care in a busy ED/urgent care setting. You will assist nurses and physicians, document vital signs, and help with basic procedures during a 12-hour night shift per two-week cycle in Encinitas.

Ideal candidates have at least one year in acute care and relevant EMT/CNA and BLS certifications. The role requires teamwork, reliability, and the ability to respond quickly to emergencies.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of experience in an Acute Care setting.
• Valid CA EMT, CNA, or equivalent certification required.
• BLS Healthcare Provider certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist nurses and physicians with patient care activities and procedures
• Obtain and document vital signs
• Perform patient care tasks including thermal applications, non-sterile soaks, and simple dressings and splints
• Collect stool and urine specimens
• Transport patients as needed
• Provide coverage for unit secretary duties when needed
