Job summary

UC San Diego Health seeks an Emergency Trauma Technician to support the Inpatient ED team. Responsibilities include vital signs, EKGs, patient assistance, and data documentation under RN supervision. Location includes UCSD La Jolla, Hillcrest, and East Campus with flexible hours.

Preferred candidates hold EMT/CNA credentials and have ED or acute care experience; BLS/BART required at hire with six-month ramp-up. Background checks and pre-employment physical apply.

Qualifications

• Minimum six months of experience in an emergency department, pre-hospital, acute care, or comparable settings.
• BART or BLS certification required at hire with six months to obtain BART.
• Demonstrated computer knowledge and skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with vital signs and monitor patient status under RN supervision.
• Perform EKGs and apply cardiac monitor devices.
• Assist in ADLs and patient transport.
• Stock supplies and maintain safe patient handling.
• Collect and document patient care data and support procedures.
• Provide comfort measures and perform secretarial duties as needed.
