Job summary

Portland Public Schools seeks a dedicated Educational Technician III to support students in the Breathe Program at Moore Middle School. The Breathe Program is a district-wide behavioral and social-emotional initiative that supports students with significant behavioral needs and aims to increase access to general education settings over time.

Under supervision, the Ed Tech assists the Special Education Teacher by promoting student learning, behavioral support, and safety.

Qualifications

• Approval as an Educational Technician III by the Maine Department of Education or equivalent.
• CPI training certification preferred or obtainable.
• College coursework or degree related to education/behavior management encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Support students with IEPs and behavior plans; assist with crisis intervention as needed.
• Provide specially designed instruction and follow prepared lesson plans.
• Collaborate with the Special Education team on accommodations and progress tracking.
• Maintain FERPA confidentiality and supervise non-instructional times.
