Job summary

Portland Public Schools seeks a dedicated Educational Technician III to support students in the Breathe Program at Longfellow Elementary. The Breathe Program is a district-wide behavioral and social-emotional program for students with significant behavioral needs, offering a self-contained learning environment with dedicated staff to support IEPs while increasing access to general education.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to calculate accurately.
• Ability to interact with staff, students, parents, and others in a professional manner

Responsibilities

• Managing student behavior in alignment with IEPs and behavior plans, including crisis intervention.
• Providing specially designed instruction to students with IEPs.
• Following lesson plans and schedules created by the SPED teacher.
• Collaboration with the SPED team and data tracking to support evaluation of student progress.
