Job summary

Freeport High School in Illinois seeks two dedicated Special Education Educational Technician IIIs to support students in grades 9–12 within our Functional Life Skills program. You will provide academic, behavioral, communication, and daily living support to students with complex needs in individual and small group settings.

You will build positive relationships, implement individualized behavior support plans and IEP goals, and collaborate with teachers, related service providers, and families

Freeport High School

Freeport High School is seeking two dedicated and compassionate Special Education Educational Technician III's to support students in grades 9-12 within our Functional LIfe Skills program. This position involves providing academic, behavioral, communication, and daily living support to students with complex needs in both individual and small group settings.

The ideal candidates will have the ability to build positive relationships with students, implement individualized behavior support plans and IEP goals, and work collaboratively with special education teachers, related service providers, and families as part of a high-performing team. Candidates should be patient, flexible, proactive, and passionate about helping students develop independence, functional life skills, communication, and vocational readiness.

Responsibilities may include supporting students with personal care, toileting, feeding, community-based instruction, behavior regulation, and implementation of instructional and therapeutic programming throughout the school day.

Pay for this position is based on the CEA Collective Bargaining Agreement Appendix B and ranges from $25.66 to $28.91 hourly, depending on experience. This position will also receive a $1.50/hour differential due to the regular assignment of responsibilities that include feeding, toileting, personal care/hygiene, and/or the physical restraint of students.

Requirements:

Must hold valid 023-Ed Tech III Certification from the ME Dept. of Education.
