Job summary

Dignity Health Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria, CA, is seeking an ED Tech to provide essential support in the fast-paced Emergency Department. You will assist with admissions, discharges, monitor vital signs, perform basic procedures, and maintain a clean, safe environment to support the nursing and physician teams.

The role requires calm, proactive approach, excellent communication, and adaptability.

Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CA) upon hire.
• Emergency Medical Technician (CA) upon hire.
• National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians upon hire.
• Orthopaedic Technologist Certified upon hire.
• Orthopedic Technologist Registered upon hire.
• Basic Life Support - CPR within 30 days.
• Acute Care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Takes vital signs, height and weight; records on appropriate charting form.
• Reports observations regarding patient status to the registered nurse.
• Identifies and responds to urgent/emergent situations.
• Assists in patient admission, transfer or discharge.
• Moves, lifts, ambulates and transports patients safely.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As an ED Tech, you will provide crucial support and direct patient care in the fast-paced Emergency Department, ensuring efficient operations and compassionate assistance during critical moments.

Every day you will expertly assist with patient admissions and discharges, perform vital signs and basic medical procedures, maintain a clean and organized environment, and meticulously document observations to support the nursing staff and physician team.

To be successful, you will demonstrate outstanding adaptability, strong communication skills, and a calm, proactive demeanor, contributing significantly to timely patient care and a smooth-running ED.

• ASSESSMENT/PLANNING
