Job summary

Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria, California seeks an ED Tech to provide vital patient support in a fast-paced Emergency Department. You will assist with admissions, discharges, vital signs, and critical care tasks while maintaining a clean environment and accurate documentation to support the nursing team.

The role requires CA CNA/EMT/NREMT certifications (or equivalent) on hire, CPR/BLS within 30 days, and a calm, proactive, team-oriented approach to patient care.

Qualifications

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As an ED Tech, you will provide crucial support and direct patient care in the fast-paced Emergency Department, ensuring efficient operations and compassionate assistance during critical moments.
Every day you will expertly assist with patient admissions and discharges, perform vital signs and basic medical procedures, maintain a clean and organized environment, and meticulously document observations to support the nursing staff and physician team.
To be successful, you will demonstrate outstanding adaptability, strong communication skills, and a calm, proactive demeanor, contributing significantly to timely patient care and a smooth-running ED.

• ASSESSMENT/PLANNING
• Takes vital signs, height and weight. Records on appropriate charting form
• Reports observations regarding patient's status to the registered nurse.
• Identifies and responds to urgent/emergent situations.
• Assists in patient admission, transfer or discharge.
• Moves, lifts, ambulates and transports patients safely.
