Job summary

Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago, IL is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to support patient care teams during night shifts in a busy ED.

This unlicensed, non-certified role assists with activities of daily living, basic nursing tasks, and maintaining a safe environment under RN supervision, requiring EMT or CNA credentials and BLS within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• EMT Certification or CNA as applicable per state.
• BLS (AHA) certification within 30 days of hire.

• Minimum six months acute care hospital or physician’s office experience preferred.

• Schedule: Nights, 7:00pm- 7:30am, 12-Hour Shift
• Hospital: Resurrection Medical Center
• Location: Chicago, IL 60631

Responsibilities

The Technician in the Emergency Department is an unlicensed non-certified assistive person who assists with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to non-critical patients and assists in maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. High School Diploma or equivalent.

2. Current EMT Certification or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), if required by the State

3. Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.

4. Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.

5. Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.
